WEBSITES FOR ARTISTS & ART GALLERIES
We've had the pleasure of being surrounded by wonderful works of fine
art done by a wide variety of West Coast artists while building and maintaining
their websites. In each case enough text was needed to tell the search
engines what the website was about and an art gallery format was needed
to display the art works.
Sample websites for artists and galleries include:
TomLamont.com, Tom Lamont - Canadian Wildlife Carver & Sculptor |
Tom chose earthy colours and a logo resembling his signature. On
clicking the gallery images open larger on a new page; the "Progress"
section uses a mouseover to move from one stage to the next.

 |
JCBarley.com, Jacqui Barley, Photographer & Artist's Agent |
The home page features a collage and a spectacular architectural photo,
while the photographic art gallery pages each feature one subject
area with a mouseover function to enlarge the thumbnails.
|
 |
MonElissaStudio.com, Elissa Anthony, Vancouver Island Artist |
Elissa's fine art gallery site uses different colours in the header
background on each page and has a mouseover art gallery function.
|
 |
LloydRMajor.com, Lloyd Major, West Coast Original Oil Painter |
Lloyd's Major's personal site uses a gallery that grows
in length. Clicking on a small image opens a larger image in a new
window. Care is taken to include relevant text in the description
and details so that search engines can read the page.

Majorartgallery.ca
Major Art Gallery and Studio, West Coast Original Art |
|
The Major Art Gallery & Studio website uses the colours of the gallery interior and fonts
of the signage, business cards and brochures to
unify the corporate image.
